It appears that our 2006 post season tournament will begin the last week of June. If all goes well, the regular season will end the 20th of June this year with the All Star games to follow that Saturday.

The all star game was nixed last night in the committee meeting. Too many teams were uninterested in it. The tournament is, in fact, starting Monday, June 26th....weather permitting. I'll post a complete schedule with brackets here by the end of the weekend.

People in the RCSL really get on my nerves. The all star game would've been really fun.

It would have been a blast, for sure.

The major complaint that I heard about it was that this is a church league and that no one wanted to tell someone yeah your not quite all star caliber in a league thats supposed to be about fellowship. Also no one wanted to vote for their peers. Thats just the impression that I got once I started talking it over with people

And, that's understandable....but still would have been fun if we could have worked it out some way.

I think with most of the personalities in this league, how one words things makes the difference. I think using the term "all stars" is what got everyone to thinking it would hurt someone's feelings. I guess having the homerun derby the past few seasons is much different than having an all star game? If this league is all about fun and having Christian fellowship, then I don't see the big deal about having each team vote for their "all stars" and having everyone come and watch the game in good fun and fellowship. However, I'm sure only voting for a couple from each team would involve some peoples egos getting offended, thus the reasoning for not having a game at all. I personally do not care if I was voted for or not by my team. It would've been another fun game and a good idea for additional fellowship among different denominations in the Richlands area. Oh well, it got shot down so I'm not going to worry about it.

I was under the impression that 1 person was selected from each team. Atleast that is how the Jackrabbits did it.

The Jackrabbits had 4 entries last year if I remember correctly

My other argument is if the message we're really wanting to send is "this is a church league and that no one wanted to tell someone yeah your not quite all star caliber in a league thats supposed to be about fellowship" Why are we even having a tournament to decide who the best team in the league is? Isn't that kind of a wrong message to send to the weaker teams that maybe aren't as "all star" material?

The Jackrabbits had 4 entries last year if I remember correctly They may have, Marcus could help us out on this one. I didn't play for them last season. I was under the impression that only Josh from the Jackrabbits entered.

We originally planned to have one from each team participate. But, a couple didn't show up. Several of them asked me to participate, then, so I finally agreed to do it. Looney got in as well so we'd have an even number. But the original plan was for one from each team to be there. We had 10 enter it overall.
