I want to express my sincere disappointment in the driver of the green cavalier last night after our late game against Temple of Hope. I'm not blaming but I know the driver was not one of our players...
I don't think everyone saw what happened but myself, Jeff Ray, Scott, and his ENTIRE family, and some others saw everything. Evidently, the driver of the green cavalier must have either been mad about the game and/or wanting to show off by speeding through the road going in excess of 40 mph. The Rec park had already turned the lights off and it was very dark. This driver of the green cavalier came speeding through very fast and I along with others had to hurry and leap to the side of the road.
What really bothers me about this immaturity and lack of responsibility is one of our players had his family watching last night and his wife and two children were in the line of fire. This was his first ever church league game and you could see the terror and disappointment on his face. His children are probably 4 and 7!
Whoever this driver was needs to come forward and apologize. This is church league and I know we all have fun, talk "acceptable, Christian" smack talk, and joke around but this kind of behavior is unacceptable, especically when little children are involved. I'm just so thankful that these children weren't in the line of fire.
Come on people! Think before you do something impulsive. It's just a church softball game. I know we all want to win but it isn't like this league matters. I play for fun, exercise, and to relieve stress. If we would've gotten beat last night, I guarantee you I wouldn't have stormed off the field and sped off like a bat out of torment. That was sooooo stupid.
Grow up!
